Aqdhiyah in the plural form of the word qadha is the settlement of disputes between two or more parties by imposing Allah's law. This Qadha is binding.
Requirements to Become a Qadhi
It is not permissible for a person to serve as a Qadhi (court judge) unless he fulfills 15 conditions:
1. Religion of Islam
2. Baligh
3. Reasonable
4. Freedom (not slaves)
5. Boy
6. Have a fair nature1
7. Have knowledge of the laws in the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet
8. Have knowledge of ijma matters
9. Having knowledge about ikhtilaf (disputed) matters
10. Having knowledge of the method of ijtihad
11. Have knowledge of Arabic
12. Have knowledge of the interpretation of the Koran
13. Have good hearing and eyesight
14. Have the ability to write
15. Have a strong memory and analytical power
