Perbedaan Pendapat Ulama Description
This Android application is an Explanation About the Purpose of Dissenting Scholars by Ahmad Sarwat, Lc. MA. In PDF format.
Differences of Opinion of Scholars
When asked whether it is permissible for a difference of opinion among the scholars, indeed the scholars themselves also have different opinions, between those who allow and those who do not allow it. Those who don't allow generally equate differences of opinion with division.
However, if we are more observant in examining it, different opinions do not always have to be divided. Splitting is indeed officially prohibited, but actually different opinions do not always have to be related to divisions.
After all, in reality, even the prophets and apostles often differed from each other. There are also angels who have different opinions, for example the Angel Rahman and the Angel of Doom, both of whom differ in determining where to take the dead and have killed 99 people. Is he put in heaven because he has repented, or is he put in hell because he has to atone for his sins first?
Likewise with the Companions of the Prophet, we find many differences of opinion between them. We also find differences of opinion among tabi'in and tabiut-tabi'in and so on. So differences of opinion are not always haram and forbidden, there are many differences of opinion that are allowed or accepted as facts that cannot be denied.
The only problem is what do we want with this difference of opinion? Do you want to be used as an excuse to accuse each other, humiliate each other, disbelieve in each other and defile each other? Or do we want to follow in the noble footsteps of the earlier scholars who gave such great examples of differing opinions.
This booklet will then discuss the limits of permissibility in dissenting opinion in part B. And in part C will discuss the causes and background why differences of opinion occur.
I hope this little book is useful. Amen, O Lord of the worlds.
