Salmo 94 Description
O Lord, avenging God; Avenging God! Intervene!
Arise, Judge of the earth; give back to the proud what they deserve.
How long shall the wicked, O Lord, how long shall the wicked exult?
They pour out arrogant words; all these evildoers are filled with vainglory.
They slaughter your people, O Lord, and oppress your inheritance;
they kill widows and strangers, they murder orphans
and yet they say, “The Lord does not see us; the God of Jacob perceives nothing.”
Fools, try to understand! And you fools, when will you become wise?
Does he who made the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see?
Will he who disciplines the nations leave them unpunished? Is he not wise who gives knowledge to man?
The Lord knows the thoughts of man, and knows how futile they are.
Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O LORD, the one you teach from your law;
calm, he will face the evil days, while for the wicked, a pit will open.
The Lord will not forsake his people; he will never forsake his inheritance.
There will be justice again in judgments, and all the upright in heart will follow it.
Who will stand up for me against the wicked? Who will stand by me against evildoers?
Had it not been for the Lord's help, I would already be dwelling in silence.
When I said: My feet slipped, your loyal love, Lord, supported me!
When anxiety already dominated my intimate, your comfort brought relief to my soul.
Can a corrupt throne be in league with you? A throne that does injustice in the name of the law?
They plot against the lives of the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.
But the Lord is my strong tower; my God is the rock in which I find refuge
God will bring their crimes upon them, and will destroy them because of their sins; the Lord our God will destroy them!
