With my heart fluttering with good words I recite my verses in honor of the king; let my tongue be like the pen of a skilled writer.
Thou art the greatest of men; grace has been poured into your lips, since God has blessed you forever.
Fasten your sword to your waist, O mighty one! Cover yourself with splendor and majesty.
In your majesty ride victoriously for truth, mercy and justice; may your right hand perform glorious deeds.
Your sharp arrows strike the heart of the king's enemies; under your feet nations fall.
Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever; scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom.
You love righteousness and hate iniquity; therefore God, your God, chose you from among your companions, anointing you with the oil of gladness.
All your garments smell like myrrh, aloes, and cassia; in the ivory-decked palaces the stringed instruments that make you glad resound.
Daughters of kings are among the women of your court; on your right is the royal bride decked with pure gold from Ophir.
Hear, O daughter, consider and incline your ear: Forget your people and your father's house.
The king was captivated by her beauty; honor him, for he is your lord.
The city of Tire will bring its gifts; your wealthiest residents will seek your favor.
The princess is full of splendor in her chambers, dressed in gold.
In embroidered clothes she is brought to the king, accompanied by a procession of virgins; are brought before you.
With joy and exultation they are brought to the king's palace.
Your children shall occupy the throne of your fathers; you shall make them princes throughout the earth.
I will perpetuate your remembrance through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you forever and ever.
