After using the Here app for years, I am completely disappointed in the new interface. I suspect it uses more memory than the last version, causing the app to crash on my basic smartphone. I enjoyed the simplicity of the original Here app which worked. Now, it takes forever just to load a single address, and I fear a search like "McDonald's" with many locations.
Used to be fantastic, then a while ago they completely destroyed the user interface, made it less intuitive and removed some functionality. I've mostly switched to Waze now. /// 2024-02-05 REPLY to developer's response: Well, If you're serious, just put it back the way it was before you messed up the UI. Then we can go from there, if you like. Or maybe spin off the old version to a separate app, WeGo Legacy or something, and see which is more popular.
When it works, it is my goto GPS app due to the offline maps, but far too often, it just hangs. Just uninstalled and reinstalled, and now it is saying there is no internet connection to download maps even though I currently have both high-speed wifi and 5G cell. Update: After running network traces, I have determined that the hangs are directly related to failed attempts to connect to the 3rd party tracker amplitude. It would seem the selling of user data is more important than functionality
