Brawlhalla is a free online action platformer that revolves around trying to knock your enemies off the map before they can knock you down. Each player has a specific amount of lives they have before they are eliminated from the game.
The game is available on PC, Android, iOS, Switch, PS4, and Xbox consoles. Moreover, players in the game gain access to a wide variety of characters, with unique skills and stats that differentiate them from one other. The game puts up a heavy emphasis on mechanics and skill. Therefore, you must understand the tips in this article to knock your enemies off exceptionally quickly.
Players need to use the items found on the map that spawn randomly for a player with any skill. These items range from a bullhorn to a throwable grenade. All of these items deal a significant amount of damage if used correctly at the right time.
The Bullhorn is perhaps the most potent droppable item in the game. It allows the player to spawn a flying bull that goes in a horizontal direction to the point where the player tooted the horn. It deals a significant amount of damage and knocks back all players in their path quite far. The bull is especially useful for skirmishes where the players are quite far away from each other as it gives one quite an edge.
The Throwable Grenade deals more damage but is not so accurate. It takes a bit of skill to understand the grenade's trajectory, and even if you do, it is relatively easy to dodge as well.
However, if it does end up landing and hitting someone, you can almost always expect them to be knocked out of the map unless and until they are in too high health. We recommend that you use the throwable grenade as soon as it drops, even if it misses, as it negates the chances of being hit by the same thing.
Each character in the game is provided with two different unique weapons to use to their advantage. These weapons range from axes to swords to guns to pikes and lances. Currently, almost all the weapons of the same class deal an equal amount of damage.
However, what separates them is their attack animation, which is almost inversely proportional to the amount of final knockback they will deal with an enemy player. All characters in the game are provided with one longer ranged weapon and a short-ranged weapon.
Your longer weapons will usually be pikes and lances. These have very interesting attack profiles that take a while to master. You can ride both Pikes and Lances. They deal with an insane amount of knockback and go forward for quite a long time. The downside of these weapons is that their attack animation is relatively slow compared to short-range weapons.
Short-Ranged weapons are more straightforward in terms of being able to hit opponents with them. They are more versatile as they range from swords to guns. Usually, they have a quicker attack animation, but unlike longer-ranged weapons, their heavy attack is quite fast but does not have a lot of range. They do deal the same amount of damage, though.
However, for smaller maps, we recommend that you go for shorter ranged weapons, especially if they have many platforms. However, for less dense one platform, bigger maps, longer-ranged weapons will be absolute beasts as they can destroy a platform due to their heavy attacks. So, spamming heavy attacks might be viable in some scenarios.
Dodging and Parrying is an integral part of Brawlhalla. Without these particular mechanics, you will not be able to evade even the simplest of attacks. However, keep in mind that you can dodge or parry only after a particular time as it has a very short cooldown, so you cannot avoid consecutive attacks no matter what you do.
In most cases, dodging a heavy attack is the smartest option you can go for, as quick attacks do not deal a lot of damage. Moreover, you can instantly counter-attack the person you dodge, which puts you up at quite an advantage. Keep in mind that they can dodge your attack once more, which leads to a chance of dodging and attacking until someone misses a dodge.
You can also throw weapons in the game. While this is not always useful, it does give you an extra hit when the player is about to be knocked off the platform is trying to jump their way in. The weapon hit might just become all you need for them to be completely knocked off the arena.
Moreover, also keep in mind that if you do end up throwing a weapon; they will respawn quicker than their natural spawn timing as the game tries to balance out the lack of weapons in the arena. You can also pick the weapons up after you throw them.
Each character is different from the other. While all of them have the same player model size, they have different movement speeds, weapons, durability, and attack animations. Some of the characters are faster than others, while some hit harder.
Usually, you should pick the character that suits your playstyle the best. However, if you are a newer player or want to know the best character, we recommend that you go for Hattori as she is relatively quick and agile and can weave in and out of the battle quite quickly.
Brawlhalla is a free-to-play platformer that heavily relies on mechanics and skill. The game is relatively fast-paced, so you must be quite keen with your reaction times to play the game well. For knocking off enemies quickly, you must be adept with the map and understand the game's nuances.
These nuances usually include understanding what weapon to attack within a particular situation, how to dodge and parry, and understanding what your character stats do. These mechanics lead to you decimating your opponents in whatever game mode you choose, including ranked, competitive game modes.
