Money Zakat
Zakat is one of the religious obligations of high value, even included in the five pillars of Islam. Neglecting the obligation of zakat is not only a grave sin, but in turn it can lead to disbelief, that is, if we deny the obligation.
There are many types of zakat that are mentioned in the hadiths of the Nabawi and also the fiqh books of classical scholars. But generally we live in cities and in this modern era, it seems that not many of our assets are subject to the obligation of zakat.
Zakat on livestock, zakat on agriculture, zakat on trade, or zakat on rikaz and ma'adin, almost all of them are not included in the list of assets we have. Then do we not pay zakat at all? Do we only pay zakat fitrah?
The following article is a form of contemporary fiqh study, which bases its ijtihad on qiyas between the text of the Al-Quran and the reality in the present.
