Author : Dr. Jaribah Bin Ahmad Al-Haritsi
Who among the Muslims does not know the person of the second caliph in Islam who has so many glorious achievements? Of course not, unless he escapes from the Muslim sermons every week. This is the economic concept laid down by Umar radhiyallahu 'anhu presented in several systematic chapters.
It is truly a basic milestone for Muslims, if they have a strong economy that realizes its adequacy, maintains its independence, and helps nature carry out its message. Without this, the condition of the Muslim Ummah will not be stable and its position will be established. Muslims will not be able to realize the expected economy if they do not uphold the building in accordance with their beliefs, the basis and branches of which do not originate from the Shari'a, independent of sources from various conventional schools of thought.
WORKING BEST
In Islamic economics, the quality of production is not only related to material goals alone, but as an Islamic demand in all areas of life. Because, the basic principle of a Muslim is always trying to emphasize the quality of all his work and improve all his products, as a form of practicing the words of Allah Ta'ala:
“Who created death and life, so that He might test you, which of you is better in deed. And He is Mighty, Most Forgiving." (Sura Al-Mulk: 2)
BEWARE OF ALMS CANCELLATION
Islam considers bringing up gifts and hurting the recipient's feelings as two things that invalidate almsgiving, because of their impact in eliminating the purpose of almsgiving, namely realizing love and compassion. Allah Azza wa Jalla says:
“O you who believe, do not lose your alms (reward) by mentioning it and hurting (the recipient's feelings), like a person who spends his wealth because he is pleased with humans and he does not believe in Allah and the Last Day. Then the parable of that person is like a smooth stone on which there is soil, then heavy rain falls on the stone, then he becomes clean (soilless). They have mastered nothing of what they strive for; and Allah does not guide those who disbelieve.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 264).
