Kajian Fikih Puasa Fiqhus Siam Description
This Android application is the Fiqhus Shiam Fasting Jurisprudence Study. In PDF format.
Fasting in Arabic is shaum and its jama` is shiam. In linguistics, shaum means al-imsak which means 'hold'. Meanwhile, according to sharia terms, fasting means: "Restraining oneself from eating, drinking, sexual relations and other things that cancel it from dawn to sunset with the intention of worship".
Ramadan fasting was first prescribed on the 10th of Sha`ban in the second year after the migration of the Prophet Muhammad to Medina. After the order was sent down to change the qibla from the Al-Aqsa Mosque to the Al-Haram Mosque. Since then, Rasulullah SAW has fasted Ramadan until the end of his life nine times in nine years.
Ramadan fasting is part of the five pillars of Islam, therefore denying the obligation to fast Ramadan includes denying the pillars of Islam. And denial of one of the pillars of Islam will result in the cancellation of one's Islam.
In fact, the obligation of fasting is not only for the people of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, but also the previous people have received orders to fast. Even so, the form and procedure is slightly different from that imposed by Rasulullah SAW.
At least we are familiar with the form of the Prophet David's fast, which is a day of fasting and a day of not. It is done throughout life until death. We also know the form of fasting at the time of the Prophet Zachariah, where fasting was not only holding back hunger and thirst, but also not being able to speak.
