Adh-Dhararu Yuzal Fiqh Rules
Definition and Position
"The harm (danger) must be eliminated."
Etymologically, al-Dharar (danger) is the opposite of al-Naf'u (benefits). It can also be interpreted that al-Dharar is all forms of bad conditions, deficiencies, difficulties and misfortunes
Meanwhile, in terms of terminology, the meaning is not far from the meaning in language, namely the lack or damage that befalls something.
All forms of harm are unlawful in this great Islamic Shari'a. It is not permissible for a person to cause damage or cause harm to himself or others, either to his soul, property or honor.
And it is obligatory, to prevent all harm that will occur (preventive), as this Shari'a also requires to eliminate harm after it has occurred (repressive).
