Kupas Tuntas Syariah Aqiqah Description
This Android application is Aqiqah Sharia Complete Peel - Ahmad Hilmi, Lc. MA. In PDF format.
Definition of Aqiqah
What is meant by aqiqah is an animal that is slaughtered on behalf of a baby born as a form of gratitude to Allah subhanahu wata'ala with certain intentions and conditions.
One of the specific intentions is to say the baby's name when slaughtering. This is as conveyed by Imam An-Nawawi in al-Majmu'
It is sunnah to read bismillah when slaughtering and say "O Allah for you and to you aqiqah the fulan (baby's name).
This is based on the hadith from 'Asisyah narrated by Imam al-Baihaqi.
Based on the hadith from 'Aisyah, that the Messenger of Allah performed aqiqah for Hasan and Husain, and he said: say bismillah (when slaughtering) bismillah, Allahu Akbar, O Allah this is yours and for you, this is aqiqah si fulan (calling the baby's name) ( HR. al-Baihaqi)
If this definition is associated with the meaning of lughowi (language), then there will be a connection. Because in language, one of the meanings of aqiqah is the hair that grows on a baby at the time of birth.
However, some Shafi'iyah prefer to call aqiqah by the term dzabihah or nasikah, which is essentially the same as the aqiqah itself.
