The term eclipse in Arabic is often referred to as khusuf and also kusuf at the same time. However, it is also well-known among scholars to use the term khusuf with the letter kho' for a lunar eclipse and kusuf with the letter kaf for a solar eclipse.
As for the prayers that are performed for reasons of this natural phenomenon, the scholars call them khusuf prayers or kusuf prayers. Where they define it as follows:
