Circumcision is actually a sharia that has been passed down for a long time. Not only for us the people of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, but also it has been prescribed since the previous prophets and apostles.

It is stated that Prophet Ibrahim alaihissalam was one of Allah's messengers who was prescribed circumcision, as mentioned in the following hadith.

Even though the shari'a was passed down to the Prophet Ibrahim, in the shari'a that came down to Muhammad SAW, it turns out that the shari'a was not abolished, instead its orders were strengthened. The order for circumcision that came down to the Prophet Abraham includes orders that are still lasting to be carried out.

Then We revealed to you (Muhammad): "Follow the religion of Abraham, a hanif." (Surah An-Nahl: 123)

This verse instructs the people of Prophet Muhammad SAW to follow the ritual procedures of Prophet Ibrahim alaihissalam.
