Salmo 80 Description
Hear us, Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock; Thou who art enthroned above the cherubim, manifest thy splendor
before Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh. Awaken your power and come save us!
Restore us, O God! Make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.
O LORD, God of hosts, how long will your anger burn against the prayers of your people?
You fed him with the bread of tears and made him drink the cups of tears.
You have made us a quarrel with neighboring nations, and our enemies mock us.
Restore us, O God of hosts; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.
From Egypt you brought a vine; you drove out the nations and planted it.
You cleared the ground, it took root and filled the earth.
The mountains were covered by its shadow, and the tallest cedars by its branches.
Its branches extended to the Sea and its buds to the River.
Why did you tear down her fences, allowing all who pass by to pluck her grapes?
Boars of the forest ravage her, and the creatures of her field feed.
Turn to us, O God of hosts! From the high heavens look and see! Take care of this vine,
from the root that your right hand planted, from the son that you made grow for yourself!
Your vine has been cut down; like rubbish it was consumed by fire. By your rebuke your people perish!
Let your hand rest on him whom you have placed at your right hand, the son of man whom you have made to grow for yourself.
Then we will not turn away from you; quicken us, and we will call on your name.
Restore us, O Lord, God of hosts; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved.
