Regarding thaharah / chastity is the main thing that is usually discussed by scholars in almost all existing fiqh books. Maybe there is an implied meaning from there, but in simple terms that purification is a condition that must be fulfilled by many worship services so that the worship that is carried out is valid, and the name of the condition is that he must be present first.
In fiqh, the issue of chastity is not the same as being clean, the measure of purity is not visible, but it is purely ritual. Not all clean things can be said to be holy, and conversely not all holy things can be judged clean by the eye. In essence, the matter of purification is a matter of ritual which sometimes cannot be logically understood, in the language of fiqh this is known as ghair ma'qulah al-makna.
If someone farts, then the person's condition is not pure, even though what comes out is not a solid object that is visible to the eye, it's only wind that can fly and disappear, but still if you have passed gas, the person's condition in the view of jurisprudence is in unholy condition.
Then that person has to perform the ablution ritual, starting with the intention to remove small hadats, followed by washing the face, washing both hands up to the elbows, sweeping (part of) the head, washing both feet up to the ankles, and finish. Again, we sometimes wonder, what's the connection with the wind coming out of that place, then being asked to purify it is not where the wind is coming from. This is the answer that this purification matter is a matter of ghair ma'qulah al-meaning/ritual matters which cannot be logically.
