Hukum Fiqih Seputar Ahli Kitab Description
This Android application is an Explanation of the Laws of Fiqh Around the People of the Book by Hanif Luthfi, Lc., MA. In PDF format.
The Law of Fiqh Regarding the People of the Book
People of the Book in the Qur'an
Including the Ahlul Kitab directly mentioned in the Qur'an 31 times and spread over 9 different letters. The nine letters are al-Baqarah, Ali 'Imran, al-Nisa', al-Maidah, al-Ankabut, al-Ahzab, al-Hadid, al-Hasyr, and al-Bayyinah. Of the nine letters, only al-Ankabut is the only one included in the Makkiyah letter and the rest is included in the Madaniyah letters.
In these verses it is explained that Muslims are prohibited from arguing with the People of the Book except in a better way. This is a guide for Muslims to carry out social interactions with the People of the Book in a good way. That is, differences in views and beliefs between Muslims and the People of the Book are not a barrier to helping each other and socializing.
The term Ahlul Kitab itself is found to be more varied in Madaniyah verses. However, everything is still addressed to Jews and Christians or one of them.
'You (Muslims) are the best people born for humans, (because you) command (do) what is good, and prevent evil, and believe in Allah. If the People of the Book believed, it would be better for them. Some of them are believers...' (Q.S. Al 'Imran, 110)
