Hukum Bermualamah Dengan Bank Description
This Android application is an Explanation of Legal Transactions with Conventional Banks by Ahmad Sarwat, Lc. MA. In PDF format.
The law of dealing with conventional banks
Why are we discussing the issue of how to settle down with conventional banks? There are several reasons that have become a phenomenon lately, including:
A. The Emergence of Anti-Riba Spirit
The discussion about how we deal with conventional banks is motivated by the increasing awareness of Muslims about the prohibition of usury and its sins.
In various forums such as taklim assemblies, recitations, mosques, even on social media, there have been many calls to leave usury.
One of those targeted as usury centers is conventional banks. There have been several fatwas that forbid us to have any dealings with conventional banks, it is illegal to save money, it is illegal to transfer, it is illegal to receive transfers, in fact many conventional bank employees have been busy resigning because there is a fatwa prohibiting it. This is a phenomenon worth noting.
But on the other hand, in fact there are still many of us who cannot separate ourselves from conventional banks.
So many are in a dilemma, between forbidding conventional banks on the one hand, but it's hard to get away from it. Like old songs, hate but miss.
It is this phenomenon that intrigues the author to make several notes regarding differences of opinion among scholars.
B. Cannot Avoid Conventional Banks
Apart from the prohibition of banks as stated by many groups, in reality Muslims still cannot escape one hundred percent from dealing with or interacting with conventional banks.
